LAST SESSION; Amal Career-Prep Fellowship
My journey with Amal started because of the lack of productivity in myself. I applied for the fellowship in November 2020 and luckily got selected. The entire fellowship was of three months that was from December 5, 2020 to February 21, 2021. Initially, I was very nervous and shy in the initial sessions and didn’t even speak in the sessions. But now, I’m a confident person with all my skills polished.
We did a lot of work throughout the entire fellowship. There were interactive online sessions, fun activities and the online courses consisted of some practical works (projects). The most interesting projects for me were Five Acts of Kindness, Eating Frog With Pomodoro and Fund Collection for Edhi Foundation.
First of all, we pay gratitude to our honorable mentors and facilitators Ma’am Zohra Hassan and Ma’am Hira Ather by making “Thank You” posters for them.
Talking about the last session, it was about connecting the entire batch with each other for the last time in the fellowship. The first thing that we did was a fun activity in which we were supposed to guess the childhood pictures of some of our fellows. It was difficult but we did. And the second activity was scavenger hunt, in that activity we were given some riddles to solve by dividing us in two teams. At the end of the session there was songs’ segment in which one of our fellows sang a song and then Ma’am Hira did. Also Ma’am Zohra sang a Pashto song.
Furthermore I’ll discuss the last session through following questions;
What was it like to just talk and connect? Do you think it is important to connect and do things just for your emotional uplift sometimes, even without a focus on work?
The whole session was focusing on connecting us together. Be that as it may, interfacing with others is a higher priority than you may suspect. The social association can bring down nervousness and sadness, assist us with directing our feelings, lead to higher confidence and sympathy, and really improve our resistant frameworks. By ignoring our need to associate, we put our well-being in danger.
An emotional connection is an inclination of arrangement and closeness between two individuals that goes past actual fascination, having a great time together, surface-level discussions, or even savvy similitudes. All things being equal, it seems like you’re interfacing on a more profound soul level — and have a sense of safety associating that profoundly. And yes, emotions are necessary to stay connected with each other.
How do you plan on keeping in touch with your Amal Family going forward?
Amal Fellowship is like my family and every one loves his family. I planned to remain in touch with my Amal Family. It will be done by connecting every one via their phone numbers, or on our batch’s WhatsApp chat group. Additionally what I can do is;
Will attend conferences and other events with the people in fellowship.
Will participate in live webinars hosted by the fellowship
Will use LinkedIn or ResearchGate to connect
Will ask my mentors and facilitators to connect us
Furthermore I can use other social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram etc.
How do you intend to use what you learnt in this fellowship in your future life?
I have gained such a huge amount from this Fellowship whether it is identified with my self-awareness or expert development. Things that I have learned are additionally noted in my notebook, and If at whatever point I would deal with an issue, I would open it up and go over the pages and keep myself reminded that I have the potential, I am the best version of myself. A long-lasting student is one term that I have gained from this Fellowship and since this Fellowship has finished I think I have become a deep-rooted student myself, I will proceed to improve and be simply the most ideal variant. Also the Amal academy’s online courses and their websites will remain with me throughout my life. So all this will help me a lot.
